“Once upon a time there were four little rabbits, and their names were Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail and Peter. They lived with their mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big fir tree. 'Now, my dears,' said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, 'You may go into the fields and down the lane, but don’t go into Mr. MrGregor’s garden.'” – from The Tale of Peter Rabbit, by Beatrix Potter

The beautifully illustrated At Home with Beatrix Potter : the Creator of Peter Rabbit, invites readers into her life, home, and landscape. Potter purchased Hill Top Farm, in England’s Lake District, in 1905. During the 37 years of her residency, the property grew to over 4,000 acres. Hill Top Farm is now owned by the National Trust and is open to the public.
