Jose Rivera talks about his lovely play, Boleros for the Disenchanted, now at A.C.T. in San Francisco.
'My father died 12 years ago, and a couple years after that, I realized I wanted to do something about my parents' relationship and marriage,' Rivera says. 'My mother was telling me all these stories, some funny, some heartbreaking, and I decided I wanted to write this play while she was still alive as a tribute to her and my father.' – from “Jose Rivera’s Boleros for the Disenchanted,” by Chad Jones, San Francisco Chronicle
